Three prints. One upgrade. All organic.
Our shorty romper pack sold out faster than almost anything we have made.
That was good news. The better news was what came in alongside the sold-out notifications - messages from parents telling us exactly what they loved, and exactly what they wanted more of.
The most common request? A little more stretch.
What the Original Pack Was Made From
The first generation of Kiggle shorty rompers was made from cotton slub - a textured fabric with a natural, slightly uneven weave that gives it a distinctive look and a lovely feel. It is a fabric we still love. It breathes well, it has character, and for a newborn who is mostly lying down, it was a great choice.
But as babies grow - as they start rolling, pulling themselves up, sitting cross-legged, twisting around to grab whatever is behind them - a fabric with no stretch starts to work against them. A few parents described the fit as slightly restrictive once their babies became more mobile. One parent said her seven-month-old kept tugging at the legs. Another said he could tell his son was more comfortable in a stretchy babygrow than in a non-stretch romper.
We took that seriously.
What We Changed and Why
The Spring Shorty Pack of 3 moves from cotton slub to 95% organic cotton and 5% spandex.
The spandex - a small amount, just enough - gives the fabric a gentle stretch in all directions. It moves when your baby moves. It does not pull across the shoulders when arms go up. It does not restrict at the legs when knees come up to the chest. For the 3–24 month age range this pack covers, that stretch makes a real difference.
Everything that mattered about the original shorty pack is still here:
- 95% organic cotton - grown without synthetic pesticides, processed without harsh chemicals
- Azo-free dyes - the same safe colour process across every print
- Made in a Fair Trade facility in Kolkata
- Tag-free - care information printed on the fabric, nothing against your baby's skin
- Compostable packaging
The fabric changed because our customers told us to change it. The principles did not.
The Three Prints
The Spring Shorty Pack comes with all three prints in one pack - you do not choose, you get all of them.
Monstera Leaf - an ivory base with a deep green tropical leaf print. Feels like a shady garden on a hot afternoon.
Ditsy Floral - a warm beige base with an all-over small floral pattern. Quiet and easy to pair with anything.
Sunflower Bloom - a white base with bold yellow sunflowers. The one that gets the most comments on walks.
Three prints means three outfits in rotation without thinking about it. Wash one, wear another.
Sizes

Why a Shorty Romper for Indian Summers
A shorty romper - short sleeves, short legs, single piece - is about as well-suited to Indian summer as baby clothing gets. For more on dressing babies through Indian heat, see our Indian summer baby dressing guide.
A Note on Why We Tell You This
We could have quietly switched the fabric and said nothing. We did not do that because we think parents deserve to know what changed and why. That is what we try to do at Kiggle - be specific about our materials, honest about our decisions, and clear when something is different from before.
